The government of Saskatchewan built 18 elementary schools on nine joint-use sites using a public-private partnership (P3) model. These schools primarily provide classroom spaces for kindergarten to grade 8, but they also include gymnasiums, child care centers, and community spaces. They are located in Saskatoon, Regina, Warman, and Martensville and opened in September of 2017.
During the bid phase, Caneta determined a “Design and Construction Energy Target” for each of the nine sites. Now that construction has been completed, Caneta is using monitored energy data to determine if the schools are on track to meet their energy performance goals. We also used monitored energy data to recommend potential optimizations to improve energy performance.
